EN – The Art Builders Group is a collective identity born in Venice, Italy, in 2017. Through the visual arts, it investigates the relationship between art and labour, focusing on issues of inequality and social rights as critical aspects of contemporary society. ABG’s practice addresses themes such as the valorization of invisible labour within the art system, the dismantling of institutional hierarchies, the critique of workism, and the role of the artist today. Through its projects, ABG promotes a practice “from below” and speculates on the notions of «art» and «artwork» from the perspective of an economy of production and resources.
The ABG performed several unauthorized actions in art institutions, such as the Tate Modern, the Venice Biennale and the Guggenheim Bilbao.
