EN – The Art Builders Group is a collective identity born in Venice, Italy, in 2017. It reflects on the matter of labour through the visual arts. Using different media, such as video, photography, performance and installation, the ABG’s practice questions and highlights social rights and inequality as critical aspects of contemporary society. The projects are an ongoing reflection on the artistic practice, the role of the artist and institutions, in order to support art workers, as well as to reveal and denounce the implicit dynamics within the art system.
The ABG performed several unauthorized actions in art institutions, such as the Tate Modern, the Venice Biennale and the Guggenheim Bilbao.
